We love meeting you, our amazing customers old, new and future. That's why we'll have a pop-up shop at Henley Swim Festival on Sunday, July 9th. You'll be able to try on swimwear, get fitting advice and buy with a special Henley discount.
What is Henley Swim Festival?
Organised by Outdoor Swimmer Magazine, Henley Swim Festival is a huge celebration of open water swimming on the banks of the River Thames. We love it for its iconic setting and inclusivity - it has a variety of swimming challenges covering different distances for swimmers of all ages and abilities.
Open water swimming is still growing around the world because it has such amazing physical and mental health benefits. We love that the Henley Swim Festival is so family friendly - eight-year-olds and up can take part. The event organisers are also doing their best to make the event as inclusive as possible for people with disabilities offering transport to and from the start and finish lines.
We'll be camping overnight in the camping field before setting up our pop-up shop in the festival village alongside other retailers, food and drink outlets, information... and the promise of celebrity swimming legends!
Team D&B in the Unlimited Relay
We will also have a squad of incredible women, loyal D&B customers and change-makers swimming in the ULTD Relay. Team Deakin & Blue, dressed like super heroes in their matching X-Back Swimsuits in Teal will take it in turns to swim as many miles as they can during the day. We'll be celebrating women's brilliant bodies and how moving through water makes us feel strong and joyful. Athleticism doesn't belong to one body type - and we're about empowering all women to come to the water feeling like the beautiful, badass queens that we are.
Team Deakin & Blue is:
Ella Foote, Editor of Outdoor Swimmer magazine and supporter of D&B since the very beginning. She probably also has more D&B swimsuits than anyone else.
Michelle Walker puts poo on the map - literally. As Technical Director at the Rivers Trust, she does fancy stuff with data, like mapping sewage spills. She also leads Citizen Science projects.
Minreet Kaur uses her skills and enthusiasm to introduce members of her South Asian community to the joys of swimming. Journalist and swimming teacher, Minreet took part in our Diversity Outdoors photoshoot.
Dr Mary Clewlow-Self. Mary has many personal and professional achievements under her belt. She was a member of the first team of people with disabilities to swim the gruelling, jellyfish-strewn North Channel from Ireland to Scotland - in her D&B Signature Swimsuit, of course.
