Six months ago, in the thick of SS20 product development and testing, I simply wouldn't have believed you if you'd told me we'd be launching our next collection during a global lockdown. Originally intended to launch in early March we have delayed this collection, conscious that swimwear is simply not important at the moment and that many families and individuals are undergoing worries far greater than where they might be taking their next dip.

At D&B HQ we've discussed at length the "right decision" when it comes to launching this new collection, trying to consider all factors not least the safety of our teams - in production, in warehousing and at D&B HQ. 

When the sun came out at the beginning of April I think we took a collective deep breath and realised that, whilst there are uncertain days ahead, there is a lot to be hopeful about: the power of community that thrives in times of crisis, the return to core human values – kindness, generosity, compassion, communication – and the selflessness of every day heroes: the supermarket workers, the bus drivers, the NHS doctors and nurses and more. 

We launch our new SS20 collection today in this same spirit of hope. We know that, for many of us, a holiday or a trip to the local pool may seem a long way off but we also know that we will meet again – on our beaches and at our lakesides, at the Lido cafes after a Saturday morning set and in the parks after lazy afternoons playing in the pool. 

We have poured so much thought and excitement into this collection - it features new reversible styles, tan-friendly cuts, new Liberty prints and more. As always, all our pieces are made responsibly from ocean waste in our East London production studio and packed and posted to you by our small family-run team in Devon. In buying a swimsuit or bikini from us this summer you are not just supporting D&B but also many other small, independent businesses that we partner with.

This summer, as our small way of saying thanks, we're donating 10% of all profits from sales of the new collection directly to the NHS.

We hope you love the new collection as much as we do, and that sharing it with you today gives you some small excitement for a healthy & happy rest of 2020 and beyond.
